We at Able 2 Driving School has been teaching in the central New York area for over 60 years. We pride ourselves with having taught thousands of central New Yorkers the art of safe driving and knowing the rules of the road. As a 'Private Student' you will be taught by one of our well qualified and trained New York State certified driving instructors. You can be assured that once you start private lessons with Able 2 Driving School that all of your driving needs will be addressed. We will work very hard to set up a driving schedule that will work for you.

Able 2 Driving School offers a number of 'Private Lesson' packages and will provide FREE door-to-door service in the Syracuse and Corland area. For those students who are ready, we will also make the road test appointment for you, again FREE of charge.

During this lesson the student will become familiar with the vehicle that they will be driving. The instructor will go over the rules of the road, road signs and traffic lights. At this point, the student's driving skill is evaluated by the instructor. During the first road trip (which is always held in a very quiet area) the instructor will teach the student the hand-over-hand method of steering.  This method insures that the student will have control of the vehicle while making turns.

In each of the additional lessons, the student will be given instructions on either making 3-point turns - parallel parking - lane changes - highway driving - city and village driving techniques. Stress is placed on intersection approaches and how to maneuver in heavy traffic.

After each lesson the instructor will review all of the information in the lesson that was just given and review the students weak point(s). The instructor will encourage the student to practice what they have learned before their next lesson in their own vehicle. 

For all minor drivers, Able 2 Driving School will keep in touch with the parent/guardian to let them know how the student is doing and what they feel needs to be practiced before the next class.
